Price : When I planned this picture, the only thing I sought was a feeling of delight and beauty, not intimate, not close – but at a little distance. The blue centre and the lower whitish part was done before I had to go away for some weeks. And I did not know what to do with the upper part. I thought of that quite often while on holiday and I had some ideas when I came back, which I didn’t use. When I saw the dry unfinished painting I immediately decided to add this golden field. Why, I don’t know. Sometimes you just do what you feel is right. The painting is one of a kind in my portfolio.
