Price : One larger canvas had stayed in my studio for quite a while (a year?) I was waiting for an idea to arrive. At last I felt ready to make a centered composition. I “reused” the technique I had used first time on “Sightseeing of Minds”, iridescent over coloured fields beneath. Soon the title was clear, Community. I wanted the expression to show perfect details as well as less perfect, all working together in a tight composition on it’s own. All belonging together and working together. My studios in UK has always been in a community of artists. We are in many ways quite extreme individualists. We are occupied with different things, and we are thinking in different ways. Some like to paint what they see, and some want to paint what we don’t see, but perhaps dream of? Other do the same with other materials. But in the essence an artistic society is also a body of great social belonging, with great respect and admiration towards other artists and other ways of expressing and doing things. It is few workings spaces easier to come to for a new beginner than a community of artists. This painting is an attempt to express some of this…
